Brian "Gritty" Snider

Brian "Gritty" Snider grew up in Chester listening to KSGM and has now worked for Donze Communications since 1987.

A 1987 graduate of Chester High School, Snider began working for KSGM in September 1987 while studying radio at Broadcast Center in St. Louis. Following his graduation in February 1989, he has been with Donze Communications ever since. From 1989 to 1993, Snider was the nighttime DJ on KSGM AM 980 and served as the station's music director.

He got the nickname "Gritty" from his classmates while attending Chester High School and it's now synonymous with Chester Yellow Jacket sports. He has served at the radio Voice of the Yellow Jackets since 1988 but his love for CHS doesn't stop there.

In addition to his work for Donze Communications, Snider is the webmaster for, a website devoted to the students and alumni at Chester High School. Currently, he serves as a charter member of the Dick Roth Memorial – CHS Sports Hall of Fame selection committee.

Through his work with the Senior Survivor contest each Spring involving Chester High School students, Snider has helped raise more than $20,000 for various charities through the yearly contest.

With Donze Communications, Snider is the host of the "Morning Honky Tonk" from 6am to 10am on Classic Country 980 KSGM.
